The Desert Well
A man crossing the desert, nearly died of thirst. He came upon an old water pump. Next to it was a small bucket of water and a handwritten sign.It said: “Do not drink this water. Pour it into the pump to prime it. Then pump all the water you want. Before you leave, refill the bucket for the next traveler.” The man hesitated. If he drank the water, he might survive a few more hours. If he poured it into the pump and it failed… he would die.After a moment of faith, he poured the water into the pump. He began pumping. At first… nothing. Then suddenly — water burst from the well.He drank deeply. Before leaving, he filled the bucket again and left the same message for the next traveler.Sometimes the greatest act of faith is pouring the last water into the pump. That is what this campaign is about.A small seed today can unlock something far greater tomorrow for the environment, the economy, "the least of these". Matthew 25:40Years ago, 1989-1999, I served as pastor of a shelter for homeless families in Friendswood, Texas.
Families stayed with us until they had jobs and homes. Most shelters only provide overnight help — which leads to a 97% return to homelessness.When people are given dignity, time, hope in Christ, and opportunity — lives change.When that chapter ended, I made a promise to God: “Lord, provide the people and the resources, and let’s do this at scale.”16 years later two callings, 'business' and 'ministry' began to converge. A breakthrough energy technology called Novacab TESS.
And along with that a quiet hobby in West Texas photographing creation and reflecting on scripture.
